  10. San Diego, California, November 8, 1989 –– Golden Triangle is now shipping
  11. Version 2.0, a major upgrade to Pronto™, the SCSI Accelerator Card for
  12. Macintosh® II computers.  Pronto 2.0 provides significantly faster performance
  13. for Syquest, read/write optical, and CD-ROM drives.  The new version also
  14. features an improved user interface with on-line help, and a completely
  15. re-written user’s guide.

  17. A user-installable Pronto 2.0 upgrade kit is available to registered users for
  18. $35.00. Factory upgrades are available for $95.00.  “We wanted our original
  19. customers – those who helped make Pronto a successful product – to be able to
  20. enjoy the benefits of Pronto 2.0 as inexpensively as possible.  It’s our way of
  21. saying thanks,” said George Spicer Bredehoft, Golden Triangle’s Director of
  22. Products.

  24. Pronto 2.0 accelerates SCSI mass storage devices by combining a 5 Mbyte/second
  25. (maximum) SCSI bus with disk caching technology.  Applications for Pronto
  26. include file servers, publishing systems, imaging and optical storage systems.
